Becoming an Ambassador We often share stories about our amazing ambassador community on social media and in our newsletters. Our network managers also speak with mentors and mentees about how mentees can join the community after completing their mentoring journey – but there's nothing quite like hearing directly from those involved. Recently, we brought together some of our brilliant ambassadors to discuss what this community offers, how it benefits the girls and young women who join, and the many ways to get involved. This blog provides a brief overview of the discussion, but you can watch the full conversation below to discover more about this inspiring community. Ambassadors Olivia, Maddy, Isadora, and Aliyah recently joined us online to share their inspiring journeys - from being mentees to participating in activities within the Ambassador Community, and ultimately becoming active leaders, helping to steer the direction of the community so that it genuinely meets the needs of the girls involved. They shared why they would encourage all the girls to take part in the Ambassador Community, and how it offers ongoing opportunities to stay connected, through engaging activities, inspiring events, and continued support for personal and professional growth. They also discussed how the skills and experiences gained through the community can enhance your CV and support you in applying for jobs, college, courses, and other new opportunities. Here’s what our amazing Ambassadors shared during the session: 🌟 Olivia: "The Girls’ Network taught me to believe in myself and my potential. Becoming an Ambassador has shown me that I can give back to others just as my mentor did for me." 🌟 Maddy: "When I was a mentee, my mentor showed me what was possible if I was brave enough to step out of my comfort zone. The Ambassador community is about support, strength, and growth, a sense of belonging and the confidence to pursue my dreams.” 🌟 Isadora: From mentee to Ambassador, I’ve reconnected with the community and discovered all the activities it has to offer—from career events and hosting workshops to writing blogs. There are so many exciting opportunities to explore here!” 🌟 Aliyah: "I’ve being part of The Girls’ Network for a very long time! From mentee to Ambassador - it's about learning, inspiring, and building a brighter future together from the BeYou events to Downing Street to writing blogs." Here’s what our London Network Manager, Lena, had to say after attending the session:. “I appreciated the opportunity to learn about the Ambassador Community from our Ambassadors. It was amazing to hear about the events and workshops they participated in with The Girls’ Network but even more incredible to learn about the opportunities they created for themselves outside of TGN with newly developed skills and confidence. I got to understand the depth of the impact that being an Ambassador has on girls involved in our mentoring programmes.” And here’s what our North East Network Manager Lauren thought of the session: “It was great to join the Meet the Ambassador session last week. They all spoke so eloquently and though they all had different journeys in their studies/career choices they all spoke passionately about being an Ambassador working with The Girls' Network. It was great to hear from Ambassadors from all different regions.” Watch the session in full here: Have you taken part in our mentoring programme?
