Ambassadors recently attended a career event at Enterprise Holdings UK Headquarters. The day was packed with insights into leadership, corporate responsibility, and career development, offering a unique glimpse into the dynamic operations of a global company and the exciting possibilities it holds.

The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Ryan Johnson, Managing Director and Senior Vice President for Enterprise UK & Ireland, followed by an exciting visit to Heathrow Airport to view Enterprise's exotic car collection.

Back at the Egham office, ambassadors networked, heard inspiring insights from Tori Patrick, Vice President of European Rental Operations, and explored the company’s impactful social value initiatives.

The day wrapped up with a super Careers Clinic led by Enterprise’s Talent Acquisition Head Clare Beynon where attendees received expert tips and advice on interviews, training, and career pathways.

In this blog, two of our Ambassadors Isadora and Terrain share their reflections, takeaways, and the inspiration they gained from this enriching experience.

Our Journey as Ambassadors: A Day with The Girls’ Network
By Isadora and Terrain

Isadora: When I first joined The Girls’ Network, I didn’t know how much it would change my life. Coming from Brazil at the end of Year 9, I struggled to adjust and couldn’t speak English very well. Having a mentor during Year 10 was a game-changer. She met me at her café, helped me with my GCSEs, and boosted my confidence in ways I’ll always be grateful for.

Fast forward to this event, and I couldn’t wait to join the Ambassador Community. I signed up to keep connecting with inspiring people, learn more, and grow. Networking feels like a whole new world for me, but I wanted to dive in and see where it could take me

Terrain: For me, joining The Girls’ Network was all about exploring opportunities and meeting people from different industries. I’ve always been curious, and I know I want to be a marine biologist - but I’m also open to discovering other paths. Having a mentor helped me with that. Becky, my mentor, worked in security for technology, and though it wasn’t my dream field, she was amazing at boosting my confidence and showing me how to navigate professional spaces. When I heard about this event, I knew it would be another chance to grow. The idea of meeting role models and learning from them sounded perfect for where I am right now - deciding on my degree and exploring career options.

The Day Begins

Isadora: Traveling to Egham was an adventure in itself! I almost missed my train, but I made it in time, and met the other Ambassadors and TGN staff. Egham is such a cute little town, and I felt excited walking into Enterprise House, knowing a full day of learning and inspiration was ahead and connecting with people.

Terrain: I had no trouble finding my way to the venue as my dad dropped me off part of the way and I met Rabina at Waterloo Station, but walking in, I felt a mix of nerves and excitement. Everyone was so welcoming, though, and that made it easy to settle in.

Moments that inspired us

Isadora: One of the highlights for me was meeting Caroline, who works in finance. She shared her story about how she didn’t go to university but still climbed her way up to a leadership position at Enterprise through hard work and training. Hearing her story gave me so much hope. If she could do it, why not me? I even got to ask her about her journey, and she was so open and invested in helping me understand what’s possible.

Terrain: For me, Clare’s CV clinic was such a standout moment. She made everything so clear and gave me tips I wouldn’t have thought of. One thing that stuck with me was her advice to include my experience as an Ambassador on my CV—it’s such a valuable part of who I am now.

Exotic cars and delicious desserts

Terrain: I’ll admit, seeing the collection of exotic cars at Heathrow was such a fun surprise from sports cars to luxury vehicles. They were so impressive—definitely something I’ll remember!  We had a look round Enterprise offices with Simon and met team members. It was a really relaxed space!

We also got a glimpse into the roles of the marketing and sales teams, who focus on building the brand and fostering relationships with clients. What stood out most was the diversity of roles and how interconnected they all are. Everyone we spoke to shared a sense of enthusiasm for their work and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Isadora: Those cars made me want to start driving lessons right away!  That’s a big goal for me. Meeting people on the office tour showed that there are such a variety of job opportunities at Enterprise. We learned about the wide range of roles at Enterprise, from entry-level positions to graduate programs and internships. Simon and his team explained how the company invests in employees.

For graduates, the Graduate Management Trainee Program is a great way to get real experience in customer service, operations, and leadership. For university students, the Internship Programme offers hands-on experience in business, with chances to build skills in sales, customer relations, and team management.  We met Enterprise Interns Omachi and Sally.

Terrain and Isadora:  Refreshments were served throughout the day. And lunch? What a great spread for us especially the desserts were a big favourite for everyone!

Why this day matters & key takeaways

Isadora: Key learnings from the sessions

The workshops and keynote speeches provided actionable insights on a range of topics, from building a strong personal brand to embracing resilience in the face of challenges.

I enjoyed the sessions and I was really glad that I was able to contribute my perspectives during the Q&A sessions and discussions. Engaging in these dialogues reinforced how events like these create a supportive community where ideas can flourish.

Looking back, I’m so glad I joined this community. It’s not just about building confidence—it’s about feeling seen and supported. Every woman I met on the day showed me that there’s no one path to success.

Terrain: Networking and collaboration

One of the most impactful aspects of the event was the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals and industry professionals. From thought-provoking panel discussions to casual conversations during breaks, the day emphasized the importance of collaboration in today’s professional world. We met innovators from various fields who generously shared their career journeys, advice, and encouragement.

This day reminded me why I signed up in the first place: to grow, to learn, and to connect. From meeting role models to practicing real-life skills, it all felt like a step toward a future I’m excited about.

We walked out of Enterprise House not just as Ambassadors, but as young women ready to take on the world.

We want to thank our partners at Enterprise Holdings for hosting such a fantastic day and providing a space for growth, connection, and inspiration. We’re excited to continue our partnership with them and can’t wait to see how the Ambassador Community evolves through initiatives like these.
