This year, we supported over 1,300 girls from some of the least advantaged communities across England to believe in their unlimited futures. 595 girls were matched with a professional woman for 1-to-1 mentoring, 360 girls accessed our workshop-only programme, and over 350 girls were actively involved in our ambassador community. Every conversation, experience, and opportunity helped a girl realise that with support and belief, she can overcome barriers and reach for a bolder, brighter future. We’re proud to share this report, highlighting the impact we’ve made and the stories that show how girls’ lives are being transformed.

The challenge

Girls are navigating increasing pressures - from rising stress levels and uncertainty about the future, to widening opportunity gaps, the ongoing impact of poverty and inequality, and a worrying rise in misogyny. National data shows that 32% of young women say their hopes for the future have worsened in the past year, and disadvantaged pupils remain significantly behind their peers academically.*

But alongside those challenges, we see resilience, ambition and extraordinary potential.

As our Chair of Trustees, Sue Rimmer OBE, reflects:

We are incredibly proud of the achievements of the girls and young women we work with. Their stories remind us why our mission matters, and why their voices must remain at the heart of everything we do. Despite the increasingly complex world they are growing up in, their resilience and determination to shape a better future continues to inspire us all.

THE DIFFERENCE WE MAKE

Through mentoring, workshops and our ambassador community, we support girls to build self-belief, expand their horizons and develop the confidence to take meaningful steps towards their ambitions. As you’ll see throughout this report, our work is creating real, measurable change: 91% of girls feel more confident about the future, 94% describe their mentor as inspiring, and 99% would recommend The Girls’ Network.
