Becca and Em with the awardWe’re proud to share that The Girls’ Network has been recognised with the ‘Positive Role Models’ award at the prestigious ROYaL Global Awards, held on 18 October 2025.

This award celebrates individuals and organisations that shine as beacons of positivity and inspiration in their communities. The Girls’ Network was recognised for its unwavering belief in the power of mentoring and the vital role of female role models in empowering young women. Through its work, the charity has equipped thousands of girls with confidence, access to networks, and a sense of limitless possibility.

At a time when young people are often exposed to negative portrayals in the media, the ROYaL Global Awards highlight the countless stories of resilience, kindness, and inspiration that exist every day. The Girls’ Network’s work exemplifies this mission, helping girls aged 14–19 to discover their self-worth, realise their ambitions, and develop the skills to overcome challenges and shape their futures.

Our work exemplifies this mission, helping girls aged 14 to19 to discover their self-worth, realise their ambitions, and develop the skills to shape their futures. Through one-to-one mentoring, life skills workshops, and access to a network of role models, we ensure that girls who may have only experienced narrow or stereotypical career paths are introduced to a world of opportunity. Many of the young women we work with go on to pursue ambitions they previously thought were out of reach.

As one of our recent mentees shared:

“I definitely wouldn't be where I am without my mentor. She opened my eyes to all the possibilities for my future and put me in touch with some fantastic people who provided me with insight and practical advice.”

Our Chief Executive Officer, Becca Dean MBE who attended the ceremony alongside Managing Director Em Lowe, said:

"We are delighted to receive this award. Mentorship has the power to change lives, and the dedication of our staff, mentors and supporters ensures that no girl’s potential is limited by her background or circumstances. This recognition reflects the incredible impact of our network and the positive role models who inspire our young women every day."

We’re grateful to have been nominated and chosen as winners for this award. Recognition like this helps us to raise awareness of our charity and encourage more people to volunteer and support us. Thank you to the organisers for a wonderful evening - it was a pleasure to share the room with so many other inspiring organisations doing such fantastic work for young people.
