Empowering young voices at the Raise Up event in Liverpool Millie, our Senior Network Manager, and Ellie, our Network Manager in Merseyside, were delighted to attend the Raise Up event in Liverpool this October - a powerful social mobility and youth summit exploring how we can build a more hopeful future. The intergenerational event brought together business leaders, educators, and young people for a day of discussion, inspiration, and action. Morning sessions focused on insights from employers and organisations, while the afternoon welcomed young people to join the conversation. Millie and Ellie heard from an inspiring line-up of speakers, including representatives from Channel 4, Ashley John Baptiste, Sara Davies MBE, and Jamie Carragher, who explored topics such as Gen Z research, the value of mentoring, and tackling imposter syndrome as a woman in business. Local organisations, including Maritime, Girls on the Go, and Biological Sciences and Housing, also shared their experiences and opportunities - offering motivation and real-life examples to the young people of Merseyside. A highlight of the day was a talk by Chasing the Stigma on mental health in young people, alongside valuable reflections from employers on improving accessibility and inclusion for early career entrants. The theme of networking and connection ran throughout the event - a message that strongly resonates with our work at The Girls’ Network. Millie and Ellie left inspired by the collective commitment to empowering the next generation and look forward to continuing these conversations across our own network. Thank you to everyone involved for inviting us to be part of such a special and inspiring event. Manage Cookie Preferences
